Real people guiding real financial decisions
Meet the team helping you move from uncertainty to clarity
Financial strategy can feel overwhelming when you don’t know who is involved, what they do, or whether they understand your situation.
At Phoenix, you are supported by people who each play a specific role in helping your strategy become clear, organised, and easier to progress through.
Meet Your Team
A team approach, built around you
Different roles, one shared goal
A good financial strategy usually needs more than one perspective.
You may need someone to explain the big picture, someone to understand your goals, someone to check the numbers, someone to research the property side, someone to manage Super steps and paperwork, someone to help with finance, and someone to keep the process moving.
That is why Phoenix has assembled a team of experts.
Each person looks after a different part of the process, in the right order, so you are not left trying to carry every detail on your own.
Your team has different roles, but the same goal.
Harold Upton
Managing Director , Senior Analyst & Co-Founder
Harold’s role is to make sure the bigger picture has been properly considered. A strategy is not just about one loan, one property, one tax idea, or one product.
It requires a holistic approach supported by appropriate data and analysis.
Harold looks at what you are trying to achieve, what needs to be protected, what risks need to be considered, and whether the overall structure supports the future you are trying to create.
Because one decision can affect another, Harolds role is to ensure all factors and decisions serve the bigger picture.
Terry Saltnes
General Manager
Terry's role is to help you understand the Phoenix process and make sense of the strategy being discussed. Terry helps translate the conversation into plain English, so you can cut through the noise, ask better questions, and understand whether the path being considered actually feels right for you.
This role is important because financial decisions can feel complicated and heavy very quickly. Terry keeps the conversation clear, practical, and grounded.
Libby Dummett, Louise Jurriaans, Gary Smith, Michael Goodison, Phillip Zabaks
Financial Project Managers
Our financial project managers are with you from the moment you schedule a call with us.
Consider them your financial concierge. They hold your hand through the entire process, from concept to completion.
This role exists to understand not just your numbers, but you, your family and your situation.
Two people can have similar financial positions but very different goals, fears, family pressures, timelines, and reasons for wanting change.
Our financial project managers help bring those personal details into the conversation, so the strategy is not only technically suitable, but relevant to your life.
This part of the team matters because an effective strategy needs to be carried out step by step. Our financial project managers make sure you are up with the play, every step of the way.
Bianca Lawrence
Chief Investment Officer
Bianca makes sure the property side of the strategy is being monitored carefully. If property is part of your strategy, it should not be chosen emotionally. It has a job to do.
Bianca looks at the numbers, research, forecasts, location, rental demand, and suitability of the property so it can support your wider plan rather than distract from it.
This part of the team matters because the property is not the prize by itself. The role it plays towards your future is the purpose it truly serves.
Angie Eather
Project Manager
Angie helps you move through the Self Managed Super Fund process with more structure and clarity.
In English: She will wrestle back the management of your superannuation to YOU.
An SMSF strategy can involve rules, timing, paperwork, setup requirements, and careful coordination.
Angie helps make the process easier to understand and helps ensure the right steps are followed as the strategy moves forward.
She also streamlines the process for you.
This part of the team matters because SMSF can be complex.
You won’t be left trying to work out the structure and steps on your own.
Gemma Leeder
Property Project Coordinator
Gemma's role is to keep the process organised once you choose to move forward.
A strategy can involve documents, contracts, timelines, updates, communication, and different people doing different things at different times.
Gemma helps coordinate those moving parts so you know what is happening, what is needed, and what comes next.
Gemma has the important role of ensuring you don't get lost in the process and lose track of progress.
Brooke Buckland
Senior Mortgage Broker
Brooke is here to help you understand your lending options and what is realistic from a finance perspective.
Once the strategy reaches the lending stage, Brooke’s role may involve assessing your suitability, gathering the required paperwork, presenting lender options, and helping manage the loan process through to settlement with you.
Brookes role matters because finance can be tricky to navigate when you do not know what lenders need, what to expect, or what happens next.
The goal is to make the lending side feel clearer, more organised, and easier to progress through.
